“Kelly's presentation, "Leadership in Crisis: The Titanic, Carpathia, & Californian," was nothing short of exceptional. Her deep expertise on the topic, paired with a compelling and engaging speaking style, captured the attention of our entire unit. The most valuable part of her session was the leadership development exercise, which challenged us with a thought-provoking decision-forcing case that directly applied to real-world scenarios. Kelly's ability to connect historical events to modern leadership principles made a lasting impression on our team, leaving us better equipped to think critically and act decisively in challenging situations.”

"Kelly Skwarcan was an excellent speaker who not only kept our midshipmen engaged but also taught them valuable leadership lessons throughout her presentation. From her insights and expertise, our students have become better and continue the journey of progressing to becoming future Naval and Marine Corps Officers. Kelly did a phenomenal job of executing her brief and was able to adjust seamlessly to a 6 am vice 2 pm brief time. She clearly was a subject matter expert on the topic. I highly recommend Kelly to any other NROTC unit as well as student groups to any college across the nation..."

MIDN Grant Harris,

Houston Naval ROTC Consortium

I’ve been in the Marine Corps for 11 years, so I’ve been through plenty of trainings that feel dry and hard to sit through. Kelly’s psychology-driven leadership session was the opposite. She took a topic that a lot of people probably see as boring and turned it into something I actually wanted to follow. The way she wrapped the material into the story of the Titanic made everything click and kept the whole room invested. She also has this intellectual aura that commands you to stop and listen. Her speaking ability is easily among the strongest I’ve seen. It was one of the best and most engaging trainings I’ve had."

SSgt Tyrae Toler,

San Diego Naval ROTC Consortium

"...I had the privilege to be in [Ms. Skwarcan's] audience; it was truly the best presentation we’ve had that semester. I was thoroughly impressed by Ms. Skwarcan’s ability to communicate her presentation effectively with such deep passion and clarity. Her presentation on the Titanic was insightful and highly engaging, demonstrating a deep understanding of the subject matter. She gave each audience member a reference sheet so we could be more engaged. Then, we broke into small groups to dive deeper into her key points. Ms. Skwarcan inviting the audience to share our viewpoints made it the most engaging speaker I’ve seen in the past two years here as a Midshipman. She perfected her presentation due to devoted practice –  her eagerness shone through each sentence.

I highly recommend Kelly Skwarcan as a speaker for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the Titanic and leadership qualities and being motivated by her unique perspective.”

MIDN Ellie Tomisek
Battalion Commander, Auburn-Tuskegee Naval ROTC Consortium

“Auburn NROTC is very grateful to have hosted Ms. Kelly Skwarcan... Not only was she extremely knowledgeable on the subject, but she was also very engaging for such a large audience. In my four years here, I would put her at the top of my list in terms of speakers I have actually enjoyed. Her talk was different than our usual content, but still extremely applicable in terms of leadership qualities you should expect for future officers.”

Jacob Rittenhouse
Executive Officer, University of Utah Naval ROTC Battalion

"Great brief, and very well presented. Very obvious that this is a well prepared and passionate topic for [Kelly]. Outstanding usage of an iconic case study to teach about leadership styles, crisis management, command climate, and decision making. Highly recommended for future NROTC units, other military units, or companies looking to critically discuss leadership techniques. Would be a great recurring event to include at New Student Orientation for all NROTC midshipmen.”

Major Mike Wisotzkey
Executive Officer, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Naval ROTC Battalion

“Kelly delivers a captivating and engaging presentation that explores elements of the classic Titanic story that are not very well known or published. There are multiple clear tie-ins for future Navy and Marine Corps leaders, particularly making decisions in uncertain and high stakes situations. The interactive case study method was awesome with student participation and they undoubtedly learned from the experience!”
