Kelly Communications, LLC's presentations combine academic psychology, interactive storytelling, and real-world historical events. Through the flagship training "Leadership in Crisis: The Titanic, Carpathia, & Californian," Kelly equips participants with research-based insights into making ethical decisions under pressure, earning & re-earning trust, and fostering high-performance climates of psychological safety, among other critical competencies for leaders across the public and private sectors.

"Leadership in Crisis: The Titanic, Carpathia, & Californian"
This interactive training presentation examines the psychology of leadership and high-performance using a little-known chapter of the Titanic disaster. Through immersive storytelling and structured small- and large-group discussion, participants place themselves in the roles of junior and senior officers aboard a nearby vessel, which sat unmoving as Titanic’s distress rockets were fired, one by one, into the night sky.

Originally developed for the University of Notre Dame’s Naval ROTC battalion, this training was created to address a well-recognized gap in officer preparation: while our commissioning sources excel at producing technically and tactically proficient officers, most receive comparatively little structured education in the psychological foundations of leadership—moral judgment, command climate, psychological safety, team cohesion, communication, and the ability to build and sustain trust under pressure, among other core competencies.

This interactive training addresses this gap by distilling research from moral, organizational, and personality psychology into practical tools that enable participants to uphold the highest standards of leadership and integrity, make ethical decisions under pressure, build trust, and improve team performance in complex environments.

"R.M.S. Titanic: Lasting Legacy, Enduring Impact"
When it comes to dominating the world’s attention, the Titanic is without parallel; 112 years after the disaster, her impact on the modern world, maritime practices, and popular culture is stronger than ever. In the aftermath of the Titan implosion in summer 2023, it has become all the more imperative to consider the close parallels between the Titanic and Titan disasters. Kelly Skwarcan, a Titanic researcher, speaker, and the author of Iron & Ice: The Full Tale of the Titanic will make the case for the Titanic's particular relevance today and unpack the big-picture questions of “Why Titanic?”—“Why then, now, and in future?” This talk is sure to educate and enthrall both those new to the Titanic’s story and long-time enthusiasts.

“Titanic 101: Life, Legacy, & Loss”
In “Titanic 101: Life, Legacy, & Loss,” Kelly Skwarcan introduces school-age groups to the Titanic story. Suitable for 3rd through 8th grade, this 60-minute, highly interactive presentation walks students through the essential components of this iconic tragedy, expertly integrating classic Titanic “trivia” with complex sociocultural themes. As a member of the next generation of emerging Titanic thought-leaders, Skwarcan is the perfect person to captivate the budding “Titaniac” that dwells within the minds of so many of today's young people.
In this 30-minute talk, Kelly shares her ‘Titanic origin story’ and the decade-long journey that led to the creation of Iron & Ice: The Full Tale of the Titanic. She offers an inside look at what sets the book apart from others in the genre, followed by an open Q&A and book signing.
General Book Talk & Signing

After interested parties have acquired film rights, Skwarcan is able to serve as the guest speaker at screening events. Before the screening, she will contextualize the overarching topic and introduce the film (previously, A Night to Remember, 1958). Post-viewing, Skwarcan will lead a Q&A session, answering audience questions concerning the film or the Titanic story writ-large. This event format can also be paired with a book signing.
